Homeopathy is a holistic system of medicine. It involves treating the individual with highly diluted substances that are prepared by specialist pharmacies. This substances undergo a process of dilution and succussion (vigorously shaking). The aim of homeopathic treatment is to gently stimulate and trigger the body's innate and natural ability to heal itself.

Homeopathy has been practiced for more than 200 years. It was discovered by Dr. Samuel Hahnemann, that after years practice medicine and frustrated and discouraged by the harsh methods and poor results and damaging side effects of the medicine that he practiced (good letting, purging…) decided to look for an safer and less damaging alternative.

Homeopathy is based on the "law of similars" which is an old principle enunciated by Hyppocrates (Father of mother medicine) and Paracelsus before him. The law of similars (likes cure likes) states that a substance that can produce the symptoms of a disease in a healthy individual can heal similar symptoms in sick people. Preparing onions can cause streaming eyes, thus Allium Cepa (red onion) could be used in homeopathic form to treat those symptoms. We can also see the use of the "law of similars" in immunology to activate antibody responses with small doses of similar substance that will provoke the allergic symptoms. Treating with similars results in the body being brought back into a state of balance.

Homeopathy acts from the inside out, by targeting the cause of the problem. It does this by assisting the individual's innate defuse mechanism and healing abilities. It supports the body's powers of recovery and strengthen resistance to illness. In addition effective homeopathic treatment can increase energy, vitality and the sense of wellbeing.

Homeopathic medicines are used in minimum dose which make them non-toxic and safe to use for babies and during pregnancy.

Homeopathy is the fastest growing and  second largest system of medicine in the world today, as recognised by the World Health Organization (WHO).
